InTech Olympiad 2018 Contest

ABOUT INTEGRATED TECHNOLOGY OLYMPIAD 2018

Quality of Engineering Education in India is a matter of concern for academicians, industries, and regulatory authorities. The ever-changing business models, rapid technological developments, and lack of self-learning motivations for the students, are the key elements for this problem. The “Integrated Technology” Olympiad 2018 is a step towards bridging the gap between demands from industries and existing engineering curriculum. After an elaborate discussion with industry partners, and academicians the competition is designed. This competition will give students a real experience of solving industrial problems with mentoring from experts. The outcome of this competition is to develop blue print of a student and assist them improving areas of concerns. Sequel to the World’s Most Popular Online Course; Entrepreneurship Goes Massive; FutureLearn’s New Pricing Model

Two (potentially) amazing MOOCs are starting this month:

Mindshift: The star team of Barbara Oakley and Terrence Sejnowski are back with a new MOOC. With over 1.5 million students, their previous MOOC (Learning How To Learn) is the most popular online course in the world. It is also one of Class Central’s Top 50 MOOCs of all time. Read more.Startup School: The folks behind Y Combinator, “the world's most powerful start-up incubator,” have launched a new MOOC that attempts to scale their mentorship program to thousands of startups.Read more.

We also published Part 4 of our Data Science Career Guide. This time we recommend you the best data visualization courses.

In not-so-good news, UK-based FutureLearn has introduced a new pricing model. The exams are now behind a paywall (similar to Coursera). The course content is still free to access, but it’s only available for the duration of the course and two weeks after it ends. For unlimited access to the course, learners needs to upgrade. That costs anywhere between £24–69.

As usual, click the button below to see a list of 1,900 free online courses starting in April 2017. Or check out Class Central's list of Ten Most Popular MOOCs starting this month.

EDX course for fundamentals of electronics.

I would like to recommend the students of ECE at MITS to take up the course "Circuits and Electronics-Part 1" from MIT, USA.

It's a very good course and will make fundamentals of electronics strong, provided the student do all the practice problems and assignments. They can take the course on their own pace and there are no time limits.

Further I encourage the students to take the advanced courses on the same subject namely, "Circuits and Electronics-Part 2"and "Circuits and Electronics-Part 3".

These will help the students to have a great understanding of building blocks of Digital and Analog circuits.

Announcing launch of KPIT SPARKLE 2018 Theme!!!

Dear Students,

It gives us great pleasure to announce the launch of KPIT Sparkle 2018, the 4th edition of Annual Innovation contest for All India Science and Engineering Students.

The recently concluded KPIT Sparkle 2017 received overwhelming response from10,000+ students from 300+ colleges across the nation.

We are happy that “Smart Cities,â€ the theme for KPIT Sparkle 2017 generated a lot of excitement among the student community and we received 1500+ ideas. The KPIT Sparkle team would like to thank all of you for your enthusiastic participation and innovative thinking.

The 2018 edition of KPIT Sparkle comes up with even more exciting theme which would allow you to explore new technology trends in the field of energy and transportation. It emphasizes on Next Generation Energy & Transportation Solutions with special focus on:

1. Artificial Intelligence
2. Cyber Security &
3. New Materials

Artificial Intelligence has been an area which has thrilled many a technology enthusiasts for decades. With the recent advent of machine learning resources like TensorFlow, Caffe, Torch, etc. opened up by leaders like Google, Stanford University and high-end computing platforms like GPUs, FPGAs has given a big boost to the AI technologies to be used for development of Autonomous Vehicles, the future of automobiles. This is undoubtedly the most sought after area of innovation in present times.

With Software and Connected Vehicles (V2V, V2I) influencing futuristic transportation solutions, secure behavior of the vehicles and safety of passengers for vulnerability against cyber-attacks is demanding a lot of attention from technologists and thus is a huge opportunity for innovation.

Lastly, Nano technologies are driving the advent of new and advanced materials, especially for energy storage devices like batteries, solar panels, etc., which is an important area of research, to develop next generation energy efficient transportation solutions.

Internship for Engineering Students | Engineering Internship

Internshala is a dot com business with the heart of dot org.
At the core of the idea is the belief that internships, if managed well, can make a positive difference to the student, to the employer, and to the society at large. Hence, the ad-hoc culture surrounding internships in India should and would change. Internshala aims to be the driver of this change.
Internshala is different things to different people-

For million plus students struggling to get a meaningful internship every year, Internshala is a friend, a mentor, an affectionate senior, and a boon.

For thousands of organizations that use Internshala to hire interns, we are a pleasant surprise, a benchmark of the world standards in customer service.

For outsiders (a chance visitor, media, investors, friends and acquaintances) Internshala is the next big thing coming out of India’s start up stable.

But internally, we are a bunch of entrepreneurs trying to solve a very hard problem – the (near)failure of India’s education system.
